t's what's on the walls that matters">It's what's on the walls that matters
It's that time of the week again - time to turn our eyes to our readers' offices in a quest to find the Coolest Workspace. Last week we saw some killer multi-monitor set ups, so this week we're focusing less on hardware and more on style.
Each of our entries for the day have a little something special going on with their walls, whether it's a well-chosen paint job or some snazzy artwork. So, now that you're sufficiently primed, hit the jump for this week's Coolest Workspace installment.
Since we've got so many entries this week, I'm going to keep the descriptions brief and let the pics speak for themselves.
Charlie Parker's spare desk butts up against a huge, stylish collage.
Jake Arakelian made some nice paint choices and put in some attractive shelving for his home-y office.
Luis Saladrigas has an eye for shelving and cord management.
Matthew McCoy's subdued office filled with toys, comics, and - of course - his computer. Oh, and it's got a really cool wall stencil.
Mike's stand-up/sit-down convertible desk has a huge, earthy painting serving as a nice work backdrop... not to mention the swing and the Pac-Man.
Eric Hutton's covered nearly every inch of his wall in photos to keep things interesting when he's not looking at his monitor.
Nils Hanson has a very simple, clean desk complimented by the clean lines of his wall hangings.
Rob Edwards added visual interest to his walls by putting together a mounted magazine rack.
Ted Esler rasterized a pic of his car's dashboard to remind himself that he needs to continue to drive his workflow.
And that's all for this week. Stay tuned for next week - our focus will be on organization and ingenuity. If you've got a workspace you think might knock us dead and you wouldn't mind the $500 bounty, ready the official rules here. Otherwise, let's hear your thoughts on this weeks workspaces in the comments.
FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS THAT ARE HOLY... GET A NEW GALLERY SCRIPT! ARGGGG... sorry... not a fan. Some decent workspaces though.
My dear husband would like to thank LIFE HACKER staff for this contest because it prompted his wife (that's me) to finally relent to buying an iMac as our home computer. Granted, I have been frustrated for quite some time with the disorganization of the PC -- the wires, the tower, etc. This contest did put me over the edge... And, once I reorganize the area surrounding the computer, I'll try to see you all a photo too --. I wrote about the switchover recently, but I thought I should thank you directly.
